My name is Michael Johnson. I am a Web designer, Internet Marketer, and serial entrepreneur living in Rochester, NY.

I spent a dozen years as a Graphic Designer and Art Director in the Advertising and Public Relations field. Now I focus exclusively on the Web. I have a personal Web site called pixelpunk creative if you are interested in viewing my work or checking out my resume.

I am on the Board of Directors of the local chapter of the American Marketing Association (RAMA), and a member of the Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO) and the Ontario County Arts Council.

In my spare time I like to…you guessed it, build and market Web sites. In early 2007, my business partner and I, Martin Edic, created Supernatural Agency, Inc. in order to freely experiment with new concepts in Web media and marketing. We are basically designing, developing, and monetizing our own domain portfolio as a test bed for new ideas. Martin and I both decided that we’d rather make a little extra cash building something of our own rather than doing freelance and service work. No clients, no employees, no problems. It’s a fun diversion from our real jobs.

The majority of my time is dedicated to my employer, BlueTie. I’m their Senior Designer and Online Marketing guy. It’s an awesome place to be right now…lots of exciting things happening. Here’s a brief overview of what BlueTie is all about. The overview describes just one aspect of what we do, but it gives you an idea of the kind of cool apps we’re building.

My buddy Martin is heading up marketing at a social media monitoring outfit called Techrigy. We both have pretty sweet jobs all the way around.

Marketing and designing for the Web completely fascinates me. It’s what I am passionate about. So I thought, “Why not blog about it!?”
